The Model 400A76 TEDS Sensor Interface Kit offers the capability to communicate with TEDS sensors over the serial port of a Windows PC. With an intuitive graphical interface to the data in a TEDS sensor, the 400A76 reads TEDS from, and writes TEDS to, sensors with a single mouse click. Model 400A76 supports more TEDS templates than any other available TEDS sensor interface kit.

Model 400A76 represents one of the most advanced implementations

yet of IEEE P1451.4, a developing standard for mixed-mode TEDS sensors. This new software is powered by The Modal Shop's latest KTEDS-005 encoding/decoding engine, enabling read/write access to sensors with 256 bits of memory.

Operating on a Windows PC via an RS-232 port, Model 400A76 reads and writes TEDS data in 16 IEEE TEDS templates and the 3 templates established by LMS International. Support for these different templates has existed in various products from TMS, PCB, and LMS, but never before in a single product. Principle types of transducers supported are accelerometers, microphones, charge amplifiers, and microphone preamplifiers. Additional templates (for additional types of sensors) defined by sensor manufacturers are also supported by simply downloading text files from the template author.

Implement TEDS encoding/decoding technology into your own applications with the TMS KTEDS-005 libraries. TMS KTEDS-005 is the underlying process responsible for TEDS encoding/decoding in all products from TMS and PCB Piezotronics.

These Windows DLL's convert the binary TEDS data harvested by your data acquisition hardware and converts it to a human readable format that is easily passed to your application software. The KTEDS-005 libraries also accept human readable data from the application software and encode it to binary data that can be written back out to the TEDS sensor.

KTEDS-005 has already been implemented across the TMS and PCB Piezotronics product lines in support of the both the PCB 442 and 481 series of signal conditioners, and the 400A76 TEDS Sensor Interface Kit. By supporting IEEE working group templates, manufacturer templates, and LMS templates, KTEDS-005 is the single most versatile TEDS encoding/decoding engine available.
